Although there’s no official diplomatic relations with Israel, exports from Indonesia keep flowing, one example are coconut flour products shipment at the end of December 2020 from North Sulawesi Province.
“There are 26 tons of coconut flour exported to Israel with a value US $ 49,790,” said Head of North Sulawesi Industry and Trade Office Edwin Kindangen Tuesday (29/12).
Coconut flour is a leading commodity in North Sulawesi, which ranks fifth as the largest income to the province since 2011.
Apart from coconut flour, based on data from the International Trade Center, there are 59 product groups from Indonesia that are exported to Israel, including agricultural and mining commodities to manufactured goods such as machinery, which in 2019 reached US $ 120.3 million.
However, the products with the highest export value were vegetable and animal oils and fats valued at US $ 27.5 million and chocolate valued at US $ 13.1 million. The export share of these two products reaches one third of Indonesia’s total exports to Israel.
In the last five years (2015-2019) the average value of bilateral trade between Indonesia and Israel was recorded at US $ 191.55 million, equivalent to Rp 2.68 trillion.
